Merchandise Specialist: Auburn, WA

Job Title: Merchandise Specialist

Department: Buying    

Reports To: Sr. Director of Buying  

FLSA Status: Full Time / Non- Exempt

             

 SUMMARY:

The Buyer Coordinator acts as the primary communicator between buyers, and stores to ensure optimal communication and quick action on merchandise issues. Manages all store tester items and warehouse. Serves as the primary contact for store communications. Assists the buying team with SKU maintenance and ensures vendor trainings are scheduled as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supports the Lingerie, Wellness, and Essentials divisions to ensure optimal communication between store, and buyer.
  • Assists the Buying team with PO generation and tracking.
  • Manages SKU maintenance for new items and item testers and owns with vendors the replenishment of new items as needed.
  • Serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all store communications
  • Creates and tracks help tickets, and answers questions from stores. Communicates with buyers and vendors to ensure questions are answered thoroughly in an effort to improve processing and sales
  • Reviews and manages the all store tester programssures store tester programs are running well, and requests additional testers if lost or stolen.
  • Develops and maintains the warehouse stock of testers, ensures appropriate level of testers are in stock for store replenishment, and contacts vendors for replenishment upon approval from the Buyer.
  • Manages marketing product requests.
  • Tracks store testers at each store, and ensures returns are sent back and stored in the warehouse.
  • Facilitates store trainings by vendors for new items as needed, including communicating with vendors to evaluate if training is needed, inviting trainers to stores, and communicating with stores on when vendors are coming and for which featured items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:           

  • Two years buyer coordinator experience preferred.

                                           

Additional required qualifications include the following:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days including weekends, evenings and long hours during peak sales periods.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise others.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.                                                

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.                                                              

 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.                                                  

 

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
