It can be hard to navigate sex toys as a transgender man. Often, sex toys aren’t designed with transgender bodies in mind, so it can be challenging to know exactly which products are going to work and are worth purchasing. Whether you are a transgender man, a trans masculine person, FTM, nonbinary, or genderqueer, I want you to know that there are sex toys out there for you.
I tried out six products from Lovers designed for both solo and partner play. Whether you are medically transitioning or not, these toys are versatile enough to work for a variety of anatomies. For reference, I’ve been on testosterone HRT for eight years and have experienced bottom growth.
When it comes to language, it is always up to every transgender person to self-identify and use whatever language feels best for their own body. For clarity and consistency in this article, I’m going to use the words “dick” or “junk” interchangeably to refer to trans masculine genitals and “dildo” or “cock” to refer to silicone strap-ons.
We Vibe Touch-X
We-Vibe toys are some of the most aesthetically pleasing and well-made toys out there. The concept behind We-Vibe’s design began with the understanding that sex toys can and should be used by couples to experience shared pleasure during sex. This is something my partner and I are constantly talking about and searching for. Don’t get me wrong, I love taking turns. Archer is their signature circumcised packer that comes in three skin tones: cashew, caramel, and hazelnut and a handful of other playful colors like rose gold, and purple. It’s not the most intuitive or sleek harness on the market, but the design is one step closer to the types of sex toys and harnesses that we need for transmasucline bodies. This harness is definitely worth a try, and even if it doesn't get you to the big-O, it’s still fun to play around and experiment with.
A note on packaging: just to warn you, the packaging for this harness is extremely gendered. Plan on throwing the box away immediately after taking the harness out or seeing if you can get a best friend or a partner to unbox it for you so that you don’t end up feeling dysphoric or weird afterwards.
